Professor Dr. Norhayah Zulkifli
Professor Dr. Norhayah Zulkifli is the dean of the Faculty of Business and Accountancy, Universiti Selangor (UNISEL), Malaysia since the beginning of 2019. She is the chief editor of Selangor Business Review (SBR), a peer-reviewed journal published by the Faculty of Business and Accountancy, UNISEL. Her expertise is in Social and Environmental Accounting, Accounting Education, and Corporate Social Disclosure. She has co-authored several research papers that have been published in the Journal of Cleaner Production, Sustainability, Journal of Corporate Citizenship, Managerial Auditing Journal, and others. She has published several books including in 2014, Social and Environmental Accounting: Education Issues in Malaysia, published by University of Malaya, and in 2022 she coauthored a book; Development of Social and Environmental Accounting, published by UNISEL.- Email:norhayah@unisel,edu.my

Brief Profile
Saadiah Mohamad is Professor of Economics at the Faculty of Business and Accountancy, Universiti Selangor UNISEL. She was a full-tenured professor of Economics at Arshad Ayub Graduate Business School and the Faculty of Business, Universiti Teknologi MARA UiTM, Malaysia’s largest university from 2010 to 2020. She was appointed Professor and the first Head of Business School at the University of Southampton Malaysia in 2021. In October 2017 she was appointed by the Prime Minister of Malaysia as a member (commissioner) of Malaysia Competition Commission (MyCC) for a three year period. At MyCC she chaired the Economic Committee, Expert Panel Committee on Research Grant and the Expert Panel & Technical Committee on Market Reviews under Competition Act 2010. Born in 1962, she received her education in three different continents: her undergraduate degree (Town and Country Planning) from University of Manchester, UK, a Master’s degree (Economics) from the University of Missouri Kansas City, USA and a PhD (Economics) in 2003 from Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia ( National University of Malaysia) . Her PhD thesis on the Exchange Rate and Export Competitiveness of Southeast Asian Economies, an empirical study using a methodology that involved a new robust econometric modelling had won the best thesis award from the university. She has over 30 years of teaching and 25 years of research experience. She has taught various Economic courses for the undergraduates and for the past 15 years has been teaching post graduate level courses in Economics and Islamic Finance. She has been involved in post graduate research supervision and has successfully graduated several PhDs including a few international students. Dr. Saadiah’s administrative and organisational experience includes as the Deputy Dean (Research, Industry and Community Linkages) at the Faculty of Business and Management, UiTM; as head at the Centre of Finance, Islamic Banking and Economics, Institute of Business Excellence, UiTM and as the first Director of the World Islamic Economic Forum WIEF-UiTM International Centre. At WIEF and with the NAM (Non-Aligned Movement) Institute for the Empowerment of Women (NIEW), she developed modules and successfully executed capacity building programmes for women entrepreneurs from Asia, Australasia, Africa and the Middle East. Dr. Saadiah received a grant award for the prestigious Fulbright visiting specialist programme in 2006 at the Institute of Global Enteprise in Indiana, University of Evansville USA. She has also had research stints at the World Bank and the International Monetary Fund Washington DC, (2001), Bank Negara, the Central Bank of Malaysia (2007) and the Asian Institute of Finance in Kuala Lumpur (2010-2011). She was awarded a one year visiting research fellowship at the Oxford Centre for Islamic Studies, University of Oxford to pursue her research entitled “Expanding the Universe: A Phenomenological Investigation into Islamic Financial Models as Tools for Social Innovation” in 2015. Dr Saadiah has more than 15 years of experience in Islamic Economics and Finance. She founded the Journal of Emerging Economies and Islamic research (JEEIR) in 2013 and maintained her role as the founding chief editor until February 2021. She remains in the editorial board to perform more of advisory role The journal was awarded best UiTM Journal for 2019. Besides Chief Editor to JEEIR, she is a member of more than 10 editorial boards and scientific committees of international journals and conferences. She has contributed to the development of Islamic Finance education in the region in her role as one of the executive committee members of the International Council of Islamic Finance Educators (ICIFE), a recognised authority on global Islamic Finance education mandated by the Ministry of Higher Education, Malaysia (2014-2019). She has published over 80 chapters in books, industry reports and academic papers in the areas of Economics, exchange rates, Islamic Finance and Social Finance. She is a co editor of the latest book entitled “ Membangun Ekonomi Manusiawi” published in 2021 by Forum Ekonomi Manusiawi (FEM) and NGO she co founded in 2020. Dr Saadiah is a regular speaker at conferences and seminars. She has a wide international engagement, travelling for academic visits, conferences and work missions to many countries including Asia, the US, UK, Europe, South America, Africa and the Gulf. Currently she is a regular speaker and moderator for webinars engaging leading economists and scholars to discuss on the economic and global challenges of the pandemic. She paved the way to bring Islamic Economics and Finance into a multidisciplinary research where she led the social science team with a project titled “Modelling the Cost Effectiveness of Drone-Assisted Technology for Mass-Disaster Victim Identification: An Islamic Maqasid-based Framework”. The team is part of a bigger team of research collaborating with the Engineering and Medical research scientists to win a transdisciplinary research grant scheme (TRGS) award from the Ministry of Higher Education, Malaysia (2019-2021). In 2018, she and a few other women founded the Khadijah International Waqf Foundation (KIWF), registered in Labuan dedicated to the application of Islamic Finance and wealth management to serve women and children. Dr Saadiah won the Top 20 Most Influential Women in Islamic Business and Finance in 2019. In this 2019 Womani 300 Award by the Cambridge International Finance Advisory, UK, Professor Saadiah is ranked number 16 from the world list of top 300 most influential women in Islamic business and finance. Dr Saadiah also won this award in 2020, ranked number 16 as well. Prof Saadiah currently devotes her time for research and supervision of PhD students. She passionately contributes as a public intellectual and performs an activist role in promoting a more humanistic economy, one that focuses on the well-being of people and the care of the environment. Prof Saadiah co-founded Forum Ekonomi Manusia (FEM) “ Forum for a Humane Economy” and currently is the Deputy Chairman. Professor Dr. Nik Hasnaa Nik Mahmood is currently a Professor in the Faculty oF Business and Accountancy, UNISEL. Previously, she worked as a Professor in the Faculty of Management and Human Resource Development (1985-2004) and Faculty of Technology and Informatics (2005- 2022) UTM. She received her Ph. D in Training Management from the University Putra Malaysia (UPM). Her research interests focus on Human Resource Management and Human Resource Development. She has published a number of 60 indexed and non-indexed journal papers and has written 6 book chapters. She has engaged in 40 completed research activities funded by the University Research Grants and related Ministries. She was widely invited to speak at international as well as national seminars, workshops and conferences. She was appointed as a Visiting Professor to Beifang University of Nationalities Yinchuan, Republic of China in 2015 and 2016 as well as North Minzu University, Yinchuan Republic of China in 2019. In addition, she was also a Visiting Professor to Sudan University of Science and Technology (SUST), Khartoum, Sudan in 2016. She had graduated a number of 20 doctoral students and 5 Master of Philosophy students. She had co-invented with her doctoral students a Hazard Identification using Virtual Reality Simulation (HI-VRMS) and the invention is copyrighted and patent filed status. She was honoured with awards including Silver Award International Invention, Innovation, Design Exposition UITM (IIDEX 2017), Silver Award Innovative Practices in Education and Industry Exhibition (I-PEINX 2016), Excellence Service Awards 1998 and 2012 and Best Paper Award, at the HRD International Conference organized by USA Academy of Human Resource Development (AHRD) & Korean Academy of Human Resource Development, 2004. In 2108 she was awarded Best Presentation Award at International Conference of Business and Applied Sciences Academy of North America, USA (BAASANA) in New York. She was appointed as Chairperson of Malaysian Chapter for Business and Applied Sciences Academy of North America, USA (BAASANA) for 2018-2022. Mohd Norazwan A. Bakar obtained his bachelor and master’s degrees in Sport Sciences from Universiti Teknologi Mara (UiTM), Malaysia respectively. He completed his Doctorate in Education with the Universiti Selangor (UNISEL), Malaysia. Meanwhile, he also teaches undergraduate and postgraduate courses. He also actively involves in research activities and at the same time supervising quite a number of Ph.D students in the area of management. In relation to that, he has published few books, journal and articles in sports management. He also a member of Malaysia Qualification Accreditation.

Abul Bashar Bhuiyan, Associate Professor at Faculty of Business and Accountancy (FBA), University of Selangor (UNISEL), Selangor, Malaysia. He has been working in academic research, supervising as well as teaching the postgraduate students in the different leading reputed Malaysian academic institutions in the last 13 years, especially as Senior Lecturer at the University Malaysia Perlis (UniMAP) and Senior Lecturer at the University Utara Malaysia (UUM). He has been awarded of his Ph.D degree from the Institute for Environment and Development (LESTARI), National University of Malaysia (UKM), Malaysia. There are more than 140 articles presented and published in refereed journals and indexed conferences proceedings as well as chapters in books in the related field of research. According to “Islamic Microfinance: A bibliometric Review” he has published most number of impactful articles in the area of Islamic microfinance in the world. There 12 PhD candidates already graduated and currently 29 PhD students are perusing their PhD under his Supervision He is serving as Chief editor for International Journal of Shari'ah and Corporate Governance Research. Prof Maliah, a Fellow of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (FCCA, UK), holds a PhD from the University of Otago, New Zealand. She started her career as an audit semi senior at a public accountants’ firm and later joined academia. She was formerly the Dean of the Kulliyyah of Economics and Management Sciences, International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM). At the international level, Prof Maliah was a member of the ISO TC 207 Working Group on Material Flow Cost Accounting (MFCA) in Geneva. She was also a Visiting Professor at Curtin University (Australia), University of Sharjah (the United Arab Emirates) as well as University Muhammadiyyah, Yogjakarta (UMY, Indonesia). She was appointed as a board member of the Malaysian Accounting Standards Board (MASB) by the Minister of Finance Malaysia in 2013. She was also a council member of the Malaysian Institute of Accountants. Currently, she is an Honorary Professor at UNISEL and an Advisor at Salihin Centre of Excellence in Islamic Accounting and Auditing. She has also been appointed as an Advisor by the Accountant General of Malaysia in the development of accounting standards for Baitulmal, Zakat and Waqf. She sits on the Education Board of the Malaysian Institute of Accountants and is a member of the Board of Trustees of the Malaysian Accountancy Research and Education Foundation (MAREF). She is also an assessor for MIA’s accreditation of accounting degrees in Malaysia. Her research interests are primarily on Islamic Accounting, Management Accounting and Environmental Accounting. Prof. Dr. Arsiah Binti Bahron is an Honorary Professor at the Faculty of Business and Economics Universiti Selangor (UNISEL). Prof. Dr. Arsiah started her academic career as a tutor at Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM) in 1986. She was then promoted to a lecturer post and served UKM from 1988-1995. In 1995 she joined Universiti Malaysia Sabah (UMS) and continued her service until 2020 and retired as a Professor. She holds a Bachelor of Science degree from University of South Carolina, USA, Master of Business Administration (MBA) from UKM, and Doctor of Business Administration (DBA) also from UKM. Her area of specialization is Organizational Behavior and Human Resource Management. She has graduated more than 30 masters and PhD students besides supervising more than 80 masters project papers for MBA and MHCM students. She is also actively involved in research and publication in which she has authored / co- authored more than 40 journal articles, more than 20 books / chapters in books / proceedings. She has secured around 12 research grants and involved in consultancy works (EIA and Training Effectiveness).
